Okita Soji (Like a Dragon Ishin)

At first I was afraid …

…. to blood spatter the Haori I had just spent several weeks lovingly French-seaming, hand-sewing, and freehand painting, so I took it out once clean to get photos.

As a side note, to get Cherry Blossom photos where I live without dozens to literally hundreds of gawkers around, you have to get up pretty early. These were taken around sunrise (~5 AM).

Luckily, it worked out

Blood Spattering isn’t quite realistic, I actually spent two full days carefully painting layers of red paint onto the Haori — inside and out, I made sure to paint in where it would have soaked through, because I’m an insane person big on realistic attention to detail.

Wig and Eyepatch

Okita’s Wig is my original Majima wig (I ultimately replaced it with one that I liked the cut of more; I improved between the two wig cuts, imagine!) with another deconstructed wig sewn into it to make a mullet with an undercut, which I then pull up into a ponytail.

The eyepatch is EVA Foam, carved, sealed, and painted. I can actually see a little bit through the hole in the middle.
